For over a decade since they received the prestigious Professional Performance Diploma from the Royal Northern College of Music they have made a serious attempt to establish their unusual combination of instruments in the chamber music repertoire. Whilst doing so they have performed world-wide including Russia, Latvia, the U.S.A. and in venues such as the South Bank Centre, the Barbican and the Birmingham Symphony Hall.
Two years ago Camilla Pay and Eliza Marshall charmed us with their flute and harp recital. This time they return with Nicholas Ellis (clarinet) providing an added dimension to play arrangements of attractive and familar works.
Formed at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2007 where they were recipients of major prizes they have continued their studies in Geneva with Professor Gabor Takacs - Nagy. They have appeared in recitals for music societies across Europe including the prestigious Aldeburgh Festival. This summer they have been Quartet in residence at Dartington Summer Music.
Ben is well known to Canterbury audiences as a very talented Chamber musician and recital pianist. With his duo partner Heidi Rolfe they have performed "4 hands" together on many notable occasions and they come to give is a lively evening of piano duets.
Winner of numerous awards, Sarah studies at the Conservatoire de Musique & Danse de Paris. In 2002 she was a concerto finalist in the BBC Young Musician Competition. She has performed at festivals across the U.K., including debuts at the Wigmore Hall, South Bank Centre and the Royal Albert Hall.
His career to date has shown him to be a pianist of notable versatility and range. He has accompanied both singers and instrumentalists with distinction, many of whom are household names.
Born in venice in 1983 he trained in Italy. He has won many awards in prestigious Internation Competitions including second prize in the London International Competition and the Bronze Medal at the Leeds Piano Competition. This winter he makes his debut at the Wigmore Hall.
Over the last few years the Quartet has been a regular visitor performing both the Mozart & Beethoven Quartet cycles in the city and surrounding area. They have a very justifiable local high reputation.
They make their usual annual visit to Canterbury. Comprising leading chamber musicians, they enjoy their visit to our venue with its excellent acoustics and atmosphere as much as we enjoy the music they bring.
